Before Lou
Ferrigno was cast as THE INCREDIBLE HULK, the role went to Richard
Kiel, the enormous actor who played "Jaws" in the James
Bond movies. While Kiel was replaced and most of the footage he'd
shot for the pilot was removed, one scene remains in the pilot.

In 1966, THE
INCREDIBLE HULK made his first television appearences in serialized
adventures as part of the crude animated series, MARVEL SUPERHEROES.
Animated (badly) by the same company that created the 1960s Spider-Man
series, the series was remarkably faithful in terms of story and
art to the original comic book. See the intro here.

featured a clip of the green giant (not played by Lou Ferrigno)
